RSS is an acronym for Rich Site Summary .
RSS is also known as Real Simple Syndication.
As the name suggests the whole setup process for using RSS is a relatively easy process. Your students may also know of this syndication process by other names.
The whole idea of syndicating or joining information sources is that the immediacy of current information is not lost to the complexities of websites - many websites are 'heavy' with information where you are required to drill down into the site to find information . Bah !
This can be a very frustrating fact when you are searching for teaching material content or locating information on current events to share with your students.
RSS allows your students to have access to those key elements you consider important for their learning, the moment you have bookmarked this information or updated your blog / website.
